John Leslie Cato was born February 29, 1936 to Elizabeth Patience Cato Bailey.
John Leslie received his education in the Nashville Public Schools. He accepted Christ at an early age. John received a certificate of apprenticeship as a skilled Iron worker in the late 70's. He moved to Dallas, Texas in the early 80's where he used his skills to help build up downtown Dallas. John had his own newspaper route and janitorial franchise. He was employed with Wal-Mart fifteen plus years he was loved by his customers and co-workers. He also worked as a crossing guard with Dallas school system.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Bailey; Daughter, Belinda Corlew; siblings, George Nelson, James Edward, Bessie Juanita and Mattie Cato.
John lived a healthy lifestyle, exercised daily and always worked two or three jobs.
John Leslie enjoyed life, he loved his wife and entire family, he visited twice yearly to spend quality time with family.
John Leslie leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife, Tonya Cato; Sons, Harold (Debra) Cato, Lemuel Cato, Michael ( Barbara) Cato and Tristan Pleasant; daughters, Jill Corlew, Nacheta ( William) Smith, Vickie ( Stanley) Allen, Brittany Taylor, India Tejeda and Diamond ( DeWayne) Richardson; brothers, Robert ( Linda) Bailey Sr., and Larry Bailey; Sister, Minister Mary Bailey. Numerous grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins. extended families, Corlew, Lewis, McDowell and Hubbard.
