Joyce Gwen Dotson was the tenth child born to Julian and Agnes Dotson. Joyce departed this life on Sunday May 27th 2018, surrounded by her family and friends.
Joyce began her education in the Nashville Public School System graduating from Stratford High School in 1977 she attended UT Knoxville and later completed her degree at Aquanis School of Nursing in Nashville TN.
Joyce married Ralph Harris and together they raised Tiffany Donzala and Ralph Julian the infamous "Boo".
Joyce had a classy sense of style and a sassy sense of humor. She loved her family. Joyce was a woman of many talents She could sing, play the guitar, write music and had a knack for changing the words to every song she ever heard. She loved to sew. If she found a fabric she liked she would make the same dress in various sizes, as Tiffany often wondered how she wore the same dress year after year. You could also count on her for a good joke. Among her favorites, The Wide Mouth Frog an The One Eyed Rooster. Her passions,cooking, and taking care of the elderly.
Joyce had a talent for turning her passion into successful businesses. She was an avid dog lover and dog breeder. She was famous for her yeast rolls, her roll business started in the Designer Market Place and rolls could be purchased in Kroger and HG Hills. Her greatest attainment of position came when she turned her love of the Elderly into a successful company "The Circle of Care Home Healthcare Agency" which she owned and operated for over 12 years.
Her love and generosity touched many She will be truly missed.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Agnes Dotson; brothers, Frank Smith, Myron Dotson, and Donald Dotson; sisters, Rebecca Lowe and Carolyn Dotson.
Joyce leaves to cherish her memories, a loving and devoted daughter, Tiffany D. Dotson; son, Ralph Harris (Boo); sisters, Linda Walker and Janice (Stanley) Black; brothers, Isaac Smith and Fred (Junebug) Dotson; devoted aunt and role model, Margaret Thomas; aunts, Betty Sue Gore, and Bessie Dalton; devoted nephew, Thomas McCullough; devoted nieces, Celena (Lester) Horton and Monique Dotson; devoted friends, Frances Kirkpatrick-Spurlock, Jan Jones (Jessie) Carter, Samantha Word, Tara Martin, Benny, Cookie Reed, Keisha Byrd McKissack and Vicki Byrd.
