Junior Lee Turner

March 27, 1939 — August 4, 2021

Age 82, departed this life August 4, 2021 in Hopkinsville, Ky.

Junior Lee Turner, the eldest of 14 siblings was born March 27, 1939, to his parents Albert Lee and Arlena Turner who preceded him in death as well as sisters, Mildred Sledge, Joyce Woods, Shirley Turner; brothers Charles Turner, Howard Turner, Bobby Ted Turner, and Roy Glen Turner.

Junior Lee led a full life and accomplished a lot.

He served in the Air Force & Reserves for 6 years. He married Ruby Nell Nevels in May of 1965 and from that union he had 3 children; Rosalind, Roderick, and Gregory Turner. He worked at Peterbilt Motors for 30 years and retired with full benefits and pension. He married again October of 1973 to Gail Smith and from that union he had 2 sons, Robbie and Mickey Turner. In 2018 he gave his life to the Lord and began serving him. He went to church faithfully. His pastor was Charles Cowan of Faith is the Victory Church.
From May 2020 till May 2021 he lived with his son Robbie Turner in Kentucky. Crissy Worley Turner, Robbie’s significant other was Junior Lee’s personal caregiver. She treated him like he was a newborn baby. She accommodated all of his needs with Love and compassion and I thank her for that. The last 2 months as his health declined drastically, he was put in the nursing home. Then Lord said, “No More Suffering” and took him home.

Now left to cherish his memories are his 5 children, 5 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren his sisters, Bertha Shannon, Mary (Thomas) Kirby, Teresa Benford, and Barbara Turner, and his 2 brothers, Edward Turner, and Billy Fred Turner as well as extended family and friends.
