Kerry Wayne (Bird) Birdsong was born June 3, 1959 to the late Lucylle Cockril-Birdsong and Luther Edward Birdsong. He departed this life on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, TN.
Kerry Wayne attended North High Alumni School where he studied Photography. He graduated with the class of 1977. Upon his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, stationed at Fort Campbell base in Montgomery County. He later retired from there.
Kerry Wayne professed his love for Christ at an early age at Little Rock, All Faith Holiness Church. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. For his Laughter, his smile, his sense of humor, his kind heart of giving.
He leaves to cherish his memory, sister, Glenda Hogan; brothers, Bernard Little and Charles Edward Birdsong; aunt, Margaret White; nieces, Linda Birdsong and Karrah Hogan; nephews, Marcus Birdsong, Michael Birdsong, William Cody Birdsong and Jaquice Carr; great nieces, Cadence Birdsong and Bella Robinson Birdsong; great nephews, Marcus Birdsong Jr., Marius Birdsong and Jayden Birdsong; devoted cousin and friend of the family, Marilyn Banks and Ora Lee Starks; as well as other loving friends and family.
God saw the road was getting rough,
The hills was hard to climb;
He gently closed those loving eyes,
And whispered “Peace Be Thine”
The weary hours, the days of pain
The sleepless nights have past;
The ever patient worn out frame
Has found sweet rest at last.
