Lewis William Gordon of Nashville, transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Tuesday, July 13, 2021.


Lewis William Gordon was born to the late George Gilbert Gordon, Sr. and Mary Thelma McShand Gordon in Springfield, TN, on January 13, 1948. He attended the Public Schools Systems of Robertson County and Davidson County. He joined the Job Corp shortly after graduating from high school. He departed this life on July 13, 2021, to be with his Lord and Savior.


Brother Lewis William Gordon confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. He was a devoted and faithful member of the Fourteenth Avenue Baptist Church for the past 15 years, working in several ministries, including the No. 3 Usher Board, the Room in the Inn, and the No. 6 Sunday School Class taught by Sis. Tam Gordon, until his health failed. He worked faithfully beside his pastor and first cousin, Dr. Frank S. Gordon, for many years and was well known throughout the community and by the Rev. Charles Strobel, founder of Nashville’s Room in the Inn, for his dedicated service to that ministry through his church.


Brother Lewis William Gordon was proceeded in death by his late wife, Burnadine Langley Gordon. He leaves to cherish his memory one loving brother, Thomas (Joyce) Gordon, Green Cove Springs, FL; four step-children and several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; two devoted nieces, Brenda Gordon Scales and Marsha Gordon Johnson; devoted cousins, Pier (Kenneth) Jones, Springfield, TN, and Princess (Suleiman Aziz) Gordon-Aziz, Nashville, TN; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; devoted friends, Gloria Rose and Paulette Chrismon, and a host of other relatives and friends
