A longtime resident of Nashville, Tennessee, Ms. Loretta Mae (True) McGlory was called home on Wednesday, June 2, 2021. Ms. Loretta McGlory was born on February 26th, 1942 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late parents of Harvey Estel True and Theresa Bernice Hoard of Cincinnati, Ohio. Ms. Loretta McGlory traveled Nationally and Internationally in support of her previous husband (Retired First Sergeant Prentiss McGlory) and four children were born during their union.
Ms. Loretta McGlory was a devoted employee of Clover Bottom Mental Health Hospital for over 20 years before retiring in 2004. After retiring, she worked part-time as a sitter for Vanderbilt Hospital. During her final years in retirement she sought to enjoy traveling with family and friends and enjoying her hobbies of knitting and planting flowers.
Ms. Loretta McGlory professed her faith in Jesus Christ and united with Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church where her mother attended under the pastorate care of Pastor Herbert Brown. She was very active in the Usher Ministry #2, Willing Workers Ministry, Music Ministry, and was very active and faithful in her Sunday School. Ms. Loretta McGlory loved her church and her church members and Pastor.
Ms. Loretta McGlory preceded in death by her parents; her first born son (Micheal Dwayne True), one special grandson (Little Terrence McGlory), a special nephew (Rodney Shields), and step-father Mr. Charles Wade.
