Martha Bernice Andrew was born June 11, 1930, in Nashville, TN to the late Lucius Wilson and Tomella Patton Lane. Bernice was the second eldest of 12 children and she received her education in the Davidson County Metro School System. After she retired from Gibson Guitar, she followed her heart's desire to open her own in-home daycare so that she could "take care of her babies”. She was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church and a proud member of the Orbit Social Club, which she referred to as her twilight days.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Bell Andrews and her son Arcenta (Bubba) Andrews, five brothers, Joseph Wilson, Robert Collins, Marvin Wilson, Walter Lewis, James Edward Turner, and one sister, Olivia Risker of Michigan. Bernice leaves to cherish her memory two loving and devoted daughters Wynzelene (General) Talley, (Nashville), Nycolette M Andrews (Nashville), three grandchildren, Ali (Alicia) Mahdi ,Stephon Crumbley, Jerry Tramell Vance, two great grandsons Jordan Mahdi, Grant Williams Rutledge, and five sisters, Marion Duiguid (Nashville), Annie Pearl Williams (Nashville), Samella Nole (Virginia) Barbara VanHeningan (Nashville), Joyce majors (Nashville), a devoted niece, Renée Daniels, a very special friend, Lou Randel, and a host of nephew, nieces, cousins, and friends.
