Marvin Snorton Sr.

Marvin Snorton Sr. was born May 20, 1938 in Setree, KY to the late Curry C. Snorton Sr. and Virginia Cole Snorton. He was the 5th of 6 children, four preceded him in death. Marvin accepted Christ at an early age, he attended Selectman Chapel A.M.E. in Adairville, KY he later joined Olivet Missionary Baptist Church and The Temple Church where he served until hi health failed.
He was educated in the Logan County School System. He entered the Army in 1956. He united in Holy Matrimony to Barbara Jean Richmond on August 12, 1961, who preceded him in death, to this union two children were born.
Marvin had a warm heart and welcoming smile, he loved people and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Those who will forever hold Marvin’s memories are his daughter, Deborah L. (Kenneth) Williams; son, Marvin Snorton Jr.; sister, Ruth Washington; brothers-in-law, Walter (Lynette) Richmond, Jolin (Cheryl) Richmond and Henry Dickerson; sisters-in-law, Lillie Mae Snorton, Effie Dunn, and Peggy Butler; godchildren, Corrine Moore, Ebony Savely, and Darchelle Moore; dear friends, Anthony & Anna Eubanks; devoted friend Dorothy Banks and William Mason and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
