Michael Howard Beard was born in Nashville, TN on January 18, 1942. He was the son of the late James Egar Beard and Leora Haynie Beard. He departed this life Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Vanco Health Care and Rehab in Goodlettsville, Tennessee.
Michael attended the Metro Public schools. Michael professed his faith in Jesus Christ at an early age.
He was employed with Vanderbilt Medical Center for a number of years before suffering a major stroke on his job which caused his health to decline.
Mike’s favorite Bible verse was Proverbs 3: 5 & 6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding”. Also his favorite gospel songs were, “This little light of mine and “Never Would’ve Made It” by Marvin Sapp.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Reedia Beard; brothers, William Beard, and James Beard.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a daughter, Tamike Lashey Beard; son, Shawn Dontae Beard; grandson, KeShawn Armonte Beard; devoted sisters, Delores Beard, Rebecca Beard both of Nashville and Leora Beard, Bridgette Brown Beard, Myra Bonner Beard, both of Shelbyville, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, devoted friend, Kermit Whitlow; and a devoted companion, Brenda Bell.
