Deacon Michael Kent Perkins was born on September 1, 1964 in Nashville, TN to the late Edward Perkins Sr. and Mary Perkins. Michael attended McGavock High School and professed his love of Christ at a young age, when he became a member of Good Samaritan Missionary Baptist Church. He later served as a deacon at New Unity Church under the leadership of Pastor Mary McCall.
Michael is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Deacon James T. and Deaconess Rosie L. Moore; paternal grandparents, Cullen and Alberta Perkins; his father, Edward Perkins Sr. and brother, Daryl Perkins.
Michael leaves to cherish his loving memories his mother, Mary L. Perkins; brothers, Edward (Jerry) Perkins Jr and Reginald (Janae) Perkins Sr; his daughter, Brionna Perkins and son, Dominique Fleming; grandchildren, Tyson and Dominique Fleming Jr; niece, Regene’ Perkins; nephews, Reginald Jr and Reegan Perkins; aunts, Virginia (Curtis) March and Geraldine Wilson; uncles, Willie (Sandra) Perkins and James (Rita Ann) Moore Jr. devoted cousin, and partner in crime, Tim Hammonds and devoted friend, Narrissia Harrison; and a host of cousins, family, and friends.
