Novella Evelyn Johnson

Novella Evelyn Johnson, age 86 of Nashville transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Monday, July 3, 2023 in Glen Burnie, MD.


Novella Evelyn Johnson, a devoted mother of four, grandmother of eight, great-grandmother of seventeen and great great-grandmother of two, was born on January 18, 1937, in Unionville, TN to the late Deuward Hershel and Mary Estella (Jackson) Lyle. She was the fifth of eight children and was affectionately known as “Evelyn”.


Evelyn was a resident of Nashville, Tennessee and a pillar of hope and inspiration in her community.


Evelyn leaves many loving memories to her children, Allison Rene, Felishia Ann, Cynthia Hope and Jonathan Allen Johnson, Sr. (Barbara); eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; siblings, Wilma Middleton, Shirley Brinson (Harvey), Thomas Lyle (Cheryl) and Geraldine Nicholson and a host of other relatives and friends.


In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her nephew, Anthony Blakemore; siblings, Louise Blakemore, James Lyle and Ida Virginia Hart; great-grandson, Jeremiah and great-niece Jennah.
