Pamelia (Twig) Tinsley Owsley was born January 3, 1954 in Anchorage, Alaska to the late Joseph and Mary Tinsley. She was ushered into the Lord’s presence on August 7, 2019. Pamelia was preceded in death by her mother, father and brother Timothy Tinsley.
Pamelia gave her life to Christ in her early years an the East 8th Street Church of God, Columbia Tennessee. The leader of the flock was Bishop Henry C. Nesbitt. Years Later she united with Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church – Pastor Herbert T. Brown. She served as an usher. Pamelia attended services at First Baptist Church of South Inglewood, Pastor Napoleon Harris V and Gospel United Missionary Baptist Church – Bishop Carlos Jones.
Pamelia attended the Maury County Schools in Columbia, Tennessee and graduated in 1972 from Central High School. In 1973 she continued her studies for a brief time at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. She lived a number of years in Bronx, New York and Jamaica-Queens, New York. She was employed by the De Prince Enterprise and one of the law firms in New York, as an Executive Secretary, in charge of other secretaries. She had a desire to become a Special Education Teacher.
After leaving New York she moved to Nashville, Tennessee and met the love of her life, Frank (Butch) Owsley and they were united in Holy Matrimony December 31, 2003. The were married for fifteen years. She worked for a private owned Pharmacy and Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center, as a Pharmacy Technician. Her last place of employment was at Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry, as Sterilization Technician. The students loved her and she would do whatever she could for them. She wanted them to be successful. Pamelia retired from Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in 2016.
Pamelia’s hobbies were watching the Classic Black and White movies! Her favorite stars were Bette Davis, Ava Gardner, Robert Mitchum, Kirk Douglas and Shirley Temple. She loved watching I Love Lucy and The Big Bang Theory. She enjoyed Jeopardy and The Price is Right. Her TV companion was her husband Frank (Butch). She certainly loved to sew, all of her outfits had her special touch. Pamelia was a tireless Tennessee Titans fan. She loved the games and tailgating. Pamelia loved life and a joyous atmosphere. Their two dogs, Rocky and Twilight were precious to her and she loved plants, flowers and stuffed animals.
Rising above in peace, resting in the arms of Jesus she joins her parents, relatives and friends…..
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Frank (Butch) Owsley; here devoted sister, Debra (Marcus) Hodge; brother, Joe Tinsley Jr.; Jeanine (Ronald) Sellers; step grandchild, Jalynn Charley; stepson, Thomas Lamont Johnson; mother-in-law, Dora Owsley; Sisters-in-law, Karen (Robert) Outlaw; H. Joyce Owsley and Dianne Owsley Ankomah; brother-in-law, Ricardo (Sleata) Owsley as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins (Janet Duke) and friends.
Special recognition to her beloved niece Tammy Patrick (Harry) Thompson, her unofficial daughter, Kim Moore, devoted friends; Joann Moore, Mother Ellie Thompson, Sandy and Tommy Wade, Rita and Horace Wilkinson, Vicky (Rick) Kelley, Helen Garner, Earlene De Prince, Robert Davidson and Charles Wells.
