Patricia Omega McGhee was born on December 8, 1960 to the late Blaine and Annie Mae McGhee and departed this life on July 24, 2023.
Patricia accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of the Temple of Deliverance Church of God in Christ in Memphis, TN for many years and later joined Brown Missionary Baptist Church in Southaven, MS.
Patricia is a graduate of Pearl High School in Nashville, TN, and Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) in Murfreesboro, TN. In 1984, while at MTSU, Patricia joined and has continued to be an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. After graduation from college, Patricia enlisted into the United State Navy and remained until her retirement in August 2005 as Personnelman First Class.
Patricia loved to travel, having lived in many countries during her military career. She dearly loved her daughter, Bria. Patricia loved shopping, both for herself and others. Patricia’s generosity knew no bounds, and gift-giving was her love language. If Patricia held you in close regard, she shared generously with you.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her sisters, Carrie Smith and Robin Maye and brother, Blaine A. McGhee. She leaves to cherish her memory, loving daughter, Bria McGhee; sister, W. Mae Smith; brother, William Lamar McGhee; nieces, Tameko Maye, Tawanna Smith; nephew, Wayne McGhee; aunts, Edna (Joe Lunsford), Margaret Timmons, Mary Mims, and Rosie Wilson; uncle, Joe (Sherri) Collins; lifelong friends, Sharon Blakely and the Blakely Family, Bettie Jones, James and Kim Robbins; many health care workers and a host of other relatives and friends.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day – and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-
