Ms Patricia Ann Payne (Patsy) was born on June 24, 1942 to the union of James Cunningham Sr and Lula Mai Cunningham in Nashville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Antonio, and brothers Arthur Odell and James Cunningham Jr. She was educated in the Metropolitan Davidson County school system and was a proud member of the Haynes High School marching band as a majorette.
Patricia accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Edenwald Baptist Church. After high school, Patricia was employed at Parkview Hospital as a pharmacy technician supervisor and retired after 25 years of loyal service.
Affectionately known as the running mother, Patricia loved to serve the Lord and approximately 20 years ago became a devoted member of the Born Again Church family on Trinity Lane in Nashville, Tennessee. During her tenure at B.A.C. she happily served in any capacity needed. Later, she became a member of FIHI (Fashioned in his Image) where she worked in My Sister’s Keeper mentoring young ladies ages 11-18. She was also one of the original flag ministers. She was also appointed to the BAC Church mothers board where she faithfully served until her health declined.
Amongst other things, Mother Payne loved to bowl, eat, cook for her family and friends, and always had a soft heart for children and the elderly.
Patricia (Patsy) Payne departed this life on Thursday December 12, 2019. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children; Chekeeta (Charles) Neal, Andre Sr, Kevin, Patrice and Terea, grandchildren; Kalon, Kendall, Andre Jr, Andrew, Kevin, Karrington, Danielle, and Jada, and 18 great grandchildren. Siblings; brother Lee (Doris) Cunningham, sisters; Georgia (Ray) Fuqua, Peggy Cunningham -Burns, sister-in-law; Joanne Cunningham, aunt Lorece Gore; niece Sophia Dotson; a devoted best friend Mary Litchford, daughter in law Deborah Payne, caregiver Shatika Harvell, and also a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of eternal life, to which you were called and have made a good confession before many witnesses.
