Ronnie Lonell Jones

Ronnie Lonell Jones, a 76-year-old native Nashvillian, passed away Friday, October 18, 2024. He was known for his charismatic personality, charm, wit and multiple talents. Ronnie was a singer, a gifted artist and was known as one of the best electricians in Nashville, Tennessee. 

Ronnie was educated in the Davidson County School System and graduated from the esteemed Pearl High School in the Best Class of 1966. He received his mechanical engineering training in Oak Ridge Tennessee and was a Mechanical Draftsman for the State of Tennessee as well as classroom facilitator at The Urban League of Middle Tennessee. He later went on to establish a career as a self-employed Electrician; a field where his skilled hands and sharp mind were well regarded by his peers and clients alike. 

Beyond his professional life Ronnie cherished his time drawing, being in the company of his friends and performing as lead singer in a local Nashville band. Granddaddy Ronnie, as he was affectionally called, was proud of his grandchildren and cherished his moments being in their company. 

Ronnie was proceeded in death by his devoted parents, Charles P. Jones Sr. and Juanita Gardner Jones; two (2) younger brothers, Tony M. Jones Sr. and Michael O. Jones; and two (2) sons, Lamont Boyd and Taurean Jones Sanderlin.

Ronnie is survived by his loving daughter and son in love: Tangela M. Jones (Perez) Grimes; five (5) supportive grandchildren: Ryan M. Jones, Devin P. Grimes, DeAndre and Derrius Hambrick and Rakia Johnson Harlan; six (6) caring great-grandchildren: Rakiya, Aniyah, Rilynn, Kaycen, Ziyan and Nariah Jones; a protective brother: Charles P. “Rip” Jones Jr; two (2) loving, caring sisters and a brother in love: Roslyn A. Jones and Vicki L. (Proctor) Pouncie; nephews: Tony M. Jones Jr. and Zerius Phranze, numerous cousins, relatives, family, friends and his extended Boyd family. 

Ronnie’s life was a testament to the power of love unconditional. His legacy will live on through his family, his art and the memories cherished by all who knew him.
