Deaconess Rosie Lee Moore was born in Giles County, Tennessee on August 25, 1928 to the parents of Willie and Essie Gilbert.
Rosie received her education in the Metro Public School System in Nashville, Tennessee.
Rosie was married to Deacon James T. Moore, Sr., to this union three children were reared, Mary, James and Geraldine.
Rosie confessed her faith in Christ at an early age. She was baptized by Reverend Golphin where she became a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church of Nashville, TN. Later, she was an active member of Swift Tabernacle Baptist under the leadership of Reverend Freeman Geter, Sr., then she moved her membership to Good Samaritan Missionary Baptist Church, located in South Nashville on Houston Street. After many Faithful services she moved to Mt. Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church with her daughter until her health failed.
Rosie was preceded in death by mother, father, husband, five sisters, six brothers and three grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Mary L. Perkins, James (Rita) Moore and Geraldine Moore Wilson; all tentative, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Valencia, Tecoria, James and Larry; grandchildren, Edward, Michael, Reginald, Rodney and Troy; great grandchildren, Taira, Talika, Jaquantez, Kevon, Lee Vrandon, Giyah, La`Rita, Rodney Jr., Anaiya, Brionna, Reginald Jr., Regina and LaJondea; great great grandchildren, Jalliyah, Jamiyh, Antaria, Antonio, LaJuan and Omari; devoted friends, Louvre Vaughn, Michael Ozment, Kenneth Whitman, Jerry Gray, Clair, Ellen and Rick Miller; and numerous friends of the Wedgwood Towers in South Nashville.
God saw the road was getting rough,
The hill was hard to climb;
He gently closed those loving eyes
And whispered “Peace Be Thine.”
The weary hours, the days of pain,

The ever patient worn-out frame
