Mrs. Ruthie Mai Dennis was born on January 7, 1929 in Nashville, TN to Edward Edmondson and Bessie Shelton Edmondson. Ruthie attended Nashville Public Schools.

At an early age, Ruthie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a faithful member of the Richland Creek Church of Christ.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Edward and Bessie Edmondson; her devoted and loving husband, Edward Dennis; brothers, Edward, Willie, Robert, and Donald Edmondson; and sister, Margaret Bass; children, Gary “Rooster” Dennis, Sr., Jacquese Dunn, James Edmondson, Renee Dennis, and Serone Dennis; grandchildren, Charles Edmondson and Theolisa Dennis.

Ruthie LOVED her family and they LOVED her.

She leaves to cherish her memories beloved daughters, Treva Edmondson, Shelia (John) Royster, Yolanda (Ronald) Moss, Claudette Dennis and Dekota Dennis, and Montez Dennis (Milton) Bearden; loving sister, Vivian Strong; sisters-in-law, Gloria Edmondson and Bernice Weakley; daughters-in-law, Stephanie Dennis and Barbara Benimon; grandchildren, Gary Dennis Jr., Savia (Corey) Holland, Rodney (Julia) Edmondson, Timothy Sr. (Destiny) Goines, Kia (Marcus) Smith, Ronald Edmondson, Steven Bryant, Terry Mayes, Reggie (Nita) Dennis, Delmas (Shauni) Dennis, Trevette (Larry) Holbrooks, Jimmy Dennis, Tameka Dennis, Edward Dennis and Montique (Jason) Luster; devoted friends, Marie Carney, Juanita Newsom, and Berry Thompson; and a host of great and great great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
