Sally Gooch Ridley

Sally B. Gooch-Ridley was born February 25, 1956 to Mary Elizabeth Lyons Gooch and Major Joe Gooch. Our Lord and Savior and Angels blew their trumpets and called her home on Tuesday, April 9, 2019.
Sally received her education in Nashville Tennessee Public School Systems. At an early age Sally accepted Christ at St. Eli Primitive Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Reverend Wade. Later under the teaching of Jesus Christ and leadership of Brother Wayne Green, she was added to the church of Christ at Inner City Ministries, where she was a member until her health failed her.
On August 15, 1998 Sally entered into Holy Matrimony to her high school sweet heart, Mr. Ricker Ridley of 20 years, he was a loving and devoted husband. Sally was a dedicated employee at Vanderbilt for 15 years until her illness would not allow her to work anymore. Sally B. was a mother figure and a devoted friend during her employment at Vanderbilt.
She was a woman who loved the Word of God and didn’t mind sharing and standing for what she believed in. She also loved her family and was always there to aid whenever someone needed her. Sally was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister.
Sally is preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Major Gooch, sister, Wanda Faye Fletcher; brother, James Walter Blackman; nephews, Earl Thomas Gooch, Major Dewayne “Poodie” Gooch.
With pleasant memories to always cherish, she leaves her loving husband, Rickey Ridley; her one and only special daughter, LaTonya Rena Claybrooks; sons, Harry Lee Claybrooks, Clifton Hayes, Rodney (Shannon) Hayes, Ricky Brooks, Deonta Waters; sisters, Linda (Donald) Perry, Sandra Gooch, Dorothy Cox; brothers Charles (Veda) Gooch, Daniel Gooch, David Gooch, William Styles; mother-in-law, Nancy Ridley; sister-in-law, Janice Ridley; brothers-in-law, Gregory (Nita) Ridley, Christopher Williams; aunt, Charlene (Ramos) Thompson; Uncles, Kevin Lake, Frank Gooch; Godmother Marsha Carney; grandchildren, Antonio Claybrooks, Clifton Hayes Jr., Leontae Claybrooks, Kwame Hayes, Rondarius Hayes, Tywaune Hayes, Antwan Hayes, Khalia Perkins, Tory Claybrooks, Ayana Hayes, Armani Hayes, Kayliah Kania Hayes, Aniya Hayes, Damonique Martin; devoted friends, Cliffadene Brooks, Sandra Britten, Margaret Lwaless, Susan Hartford, James Anderson, Gloria Maryland, Jeff Bratton; Vanderbilt family; godson; Shawn Robinson; goddaughter; Kendra Barkeig, Sharonda Waters; Nieces, Lakitha Gooch, Nicole Gooch, Teresa Gooch, LaWanda Harding.
