Shirley Gooch-Benimon a resident of Nashville Tennessee was born December 2, 1949 to the late Eugenia Gooch who precedes her in death and her living father, Mr. John H. Gant.
Shirley transitioned into her new life on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 where there is no more pain, medicine, no more trips back and forth to the doctors. Shirley is resting for the first time, safe in the arms of Jesus.
Shirley is preceded in death by her, daughter Tanitta Benimon and brother, Larry Gooch.
Shirley attended Pearl High School of Metro Davidson County, Nashville, Tennessee.
Shirley worked for Aladdin Industries, Ford Motors, and Elliston Place Soda Shop.
Shirley had several hobbies: she loved cooking, skating at the Bethlehem Center, and on the weekends she was a cosmetologist.
Shirley accepted Christ at an early age at Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. F. M. Spence, where she continued to served under Pastor Herbert T. Brown until her health suddenly change.
Shirley’s smile along with her friendly loving heart will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Shirley leaves to cherish her memories, husband Charles Benimon; granddaughter, Yahnitta Constance; sister, Sandra Gant; brothers, William (Brenda) Gant, James (Jackie) Gant and Terry (Vickie) Gooch; sisters-in-law, Bernice Smartt, Pearl and Annie Benimon; brother-in-law, Ernest (May) Benimon with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
