Shirley L. Majors was born August 14, 1953 to the late Essie L. and Gertrude M. Harris in Davidson County, Tennessee. She departed this earthly life July 19, 2017.
Shirley was educated in the Davidson County School System, graduating from North High School in 1971. She was saved and baptized at the Saint James Missionary Baptist Church, under the pastorate of late Reverend Morgan Frierson around 1963.
Shirley worked for many years at Woolco Company and Kroger Company in Belle Meade for 34 years, retiring from Kroger in 2010 because of illness. She was married to Curtis Majors, Jr. in 1975. To this union one child was born. She loved reading books, watching Soap Opras and Oprah Show, and talking to her friends on the telephone.
She leaves to cherish memory a very devoted daughter, Melissa Majors; sister Jacqueline Harris; nieces, LaQuita and Tasha Harris, and Kelly Harris-Johnson; cousins and devoted friends, Loretta Phillips, Ruby Howell, Linda Pritchett, Mattie Cartwright, Jewell Gilbert, and Curtis Majors, Jr.
