Steven L. Shaifer, Jr. was born July 6, 1982 in Hampton Virginia to the late Mr. Steven L. Shaifer, Sr. and is survived by his mother Mrs. Michelle Shaifer Stitts, stepfather Barry M. Stitts, two brothers Montez T. Shaifer and DeJuan M. Stitts, one stepbrother Barry C. Stitts, a beautiful niece Alexis J. Shaifer, his grandparents Mr. Thaddeus and Mrs. Gloria Williams from Hampton Virginia, step grandmother Mrs. Geraldine Stitts from Piedmont, Alabama and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Steven was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Newport News, VA where he was baptized, saved and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior at a very early age. Steven was called home to be with his heavenly father on September 19, 2016 peacefully free of pain with no more suffering. Steven graduated receiving his G.E.D. with high honors. Also, at the age of 10, he was the very First to ever receive the Evelyn Keyes Award for Literature.
Steven was a very bright and intelligent young man. He also was a loving and caring person whom never met a stranger and impacted the lives of those he came in contact with. His passions were cooking, entertaining family and friends, decorating, hairstyling, and utilizing his personal fashion expertise. He was full of wisdom, wit, and charm. To know him was to love him. Steven had a very, very deep love for his mother as well as his family. But most importantly he always put God First.
Steven will always be thought of, loved and missed dearly by all who knew him.
