Thelma Jean Hayes was born on January 3, 1956. She was the fifth living child born to the late Myles Lock and Eloise Mildred Hayes. She transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life at the age of 60 on May 04, 2016.
Thelma was educated in the Rutherford County Public School System. She attended Rosenwald Elementary School and Holloway High School. She accepted Christ at an early age and united with St. James C.M.E. Church in LaVergne, TN. She then moved her membership to First Baptist South Inglewood in order to join her family in service to God. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and always enjoyed being able to see them and play with them.
Thelma had a beautiful voice and used it in service to God singing in both the Youth and Adult Choirs at St. James C.M.E.
She is survived by two daughter: Chelsea and Resha Hayes both of Nashville, TN; seven grandchildren; five grandsons; Teiarri, Antoine, Antoine, Joseph, Victor, Emari Wood, two granddaughters; Alexandria and Tyla Hayes; two great-grandsons; Aryee and Antoine Hayes, Jr.; three sisters; Patricia (John) Massey; Margaret (Alvin) Gilbert and Sylvia (Tommy) Smith; two brothers; Jerry (Eleanor) Hayes; and George Hayes, and a host of other relatives and friends.
