Tina Garrett was born on October 11,1961 in Linden TN. She was preceded in death by her mother Louella Garrett, Father George Robert Laster and sister Phyllis Tinsley. Tina attended school in Parsons, TN. She was a girl scout and also played on the basketball team. She later attended school in Nashville TN. after relocating. Tina was very outgoing and she had a soft side for all of her family and friends.
She was always very caring to anyone she would meet. Tina had a great sense for clothing and fashion. Her mother Louella was a seamstress and made most of her outfits. Tina would always tell stories about her being voted best dress in high school.
After high school she began her working career. She worked for Airways Plaza then switched to the retail industry. Tina worked for O’Brien Brothers, Zares, and Walmart. In November 1981 Tina had her first daughter Tosha at the age of 20. Eight years later at the young age of 28 she was diagnosed with severe kidney failure in which she had to begin dialysis. Even with the devastating news Tina was a trooper. She managed to continue working for Walmart on the days she didn’t have dialysis and at her dialysis treatments she was so resilient and strong she put herself on/off the dialysis machine.
After a short period of time on the donor list Tina received a kidney from a generous donor who gave her another opportunity to enjoy more years of life without having to do dialysis. Her transplant lasted 10 years and she was blessed with 2 more daughters TyQuazsha and Denaja to complete her family. Eventually she had to begin dialysis again and continued until her earthly departure. Through it all she never gave in to her sickness and although we will miss her we know she is in Heaven now and has been healed and made whole again.
She has now been reunited with her mother father and sister. The love she had for her family will be inside of us forever and we will cherish all of our wonderful memories.
