Trousdale Smith Parker was born August 2, 1917 to Sandy and Ella Belle Smith in Union City, Tennessee. Trousdale departed this life October 27, 2015 in the home of her daughter, Sharon Doucet.
She completed her education at Pearl High School, University of Chicago, and Master of Education degree at TSU.
Trousdale worked for Chicago and Nashville Public School System for over 35 years. While in Chicago she was an active member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, the Chicago’s Teacher Union, and Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
In 1941 Trousdale and James P. Parker were married to this union four children were born. She actively participated in Imperial Social Club (1965), the Imperial Coterie (1990), and Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Nashville, TN.
She is preceded in death by husband, James P. Parker; children, George Parker, Janice Parker and Venorian Parker.
Survived by daughter Sharon Parker (Philip Sr.) Doucet; son-in-law, Dr. Hubert Skinner; daughter-in-law, Ella Parker-Stone; grandchildren, Terrance Parker, Georgene Parker, Craig (Donna) Skinner, Gerard (Regina) Skinner, Erika Parker, Faybrienne Doucet, Venorian Doucet, Philip James (LaNedra) Doucet; great grandchildren; Angela Parker, Andre (Shay) Parker, David Foster, Melina Skinner, Sophia Skinner, Christian Parker; great-great grandchild, Aubry Parker; other relatives & friends and a devoted friend, Yvonne Adams.
Family will receive friends Saturday, October 31, 2015 from 5-7pm at Highland Hills Funeral Home, 2422 Brick Church Pike.
Visitation Sunday, November 1, 2015 at 1:00 p.m., Ivy Beyond The Wall Ceremony, 1:30 p.m., Service will begin at 2:00 p.m., Mount Olive Baptist Church, 3411 Albion St., with Pastor Amos T. Griffey, Eulogist.
Interment, Greenwood Main Cemetery.
