Vincent B. Collier Sr., was born June 22, 1960 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Pastor Phillip D. and Nancy Collier. He attended Metro Nashville Public Schools.
Vincent professed his faith in Jesus Christ, he became a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. As a young boy he sung in the Sunshine Band Choir at Shiloh. As a man he later carried his singing abilities with him to Good Samaritan Church. Vincent was an active member and sang there until the church closed their doors in 2017. His health began to fail him shortly after that time but his faith in God never wavered. He knew he needed to be under covering so he came under the covering of his cousin, Pastor Sandy McClain prior to his death.
Vincent was a hard and dedicated church man as well as to his employer, HCA. He enjoyed spending time with his family, if any of his sisters or nieces asked for anything and if he had it, they had it as well. The booming bass of his voice and laughter always warranted joy, humor, and love. Vincent had a love for music, would stay up all night playing the radio and singing along. His son, nieces, and nephews all considered him cool because he would be up on the latest music and you never saw him without a pair of shades on. Vincent was a gentle spirit who knew God.
Vincent was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Nancy Collier; 7 siblings, and god mother, Eunice Tucker.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Son, Vincent B Collier Jr; Sisters, Barbara, Ewanda, and Sheila Collier; Brother, Ronnie (Sheila) Collier; Nieces, Nancia (William) Guy Sr., Janeia, India, and Chetika Collier, Candace Cosey; Nephew, Phillip Collier; Host of great nieces and nephews; Devoted family friend, Rodger Hammonds and several other family and friends.
