Wayne Earl Miller

Wayne Earl Miller of Antioch, TN transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Tuesday, March 3, 2015.

He was born May 9, 1948 in Lee County, Alabama to Earlie and Etheldra Miller. He was the eldest of three children.

He received his elementary education in Swainsboro, Georgia, and his high school education at Boggs Academy in Keysville, Georgia. In the fall of 1966, Wayne enrolled at Tennessee State University (TSU) in Nashville where he studied engineering. He received his degree in Electrical Engineering in 1970. After graduating from TUS, Wayne worked at Meharry Medical College as a Video Engineer. While there, he met the woman that he would later marry, Mattie Sevier Miller. To this union, two children were born: Jamal and Amanda.

Wayne went on to work at WTVF News Channel Five as a Video Engineer. He also worked part time and volunteered his talents as a Radio Engineer at WFSK FM on the campus of Fisk University for almost thirty years. He work as a Communications Systems Engineer at Nissan Motor Manufacturing Corporation, in Smyrna, Tennessee for twenty years before he retired.

Wayne loved music. He played piano and led his own band when in high school. His love for music inspired hi to build a Sound System and sound engineering company called the Music City Sound Man. He provided the sound for several local concerts. One of his most memorable and notable concerts was the Rolling Stones in Knoxville, TN.

Wayne is survived by his mother, Etheldra K. Miller; siblings, Ronald and Deborah Miller; son, Jamal (Ellen) Miller; daughter, Amanda Miller, Littlejohn (Marc); grandson, Jamal Miller Jr., JaCorey Miller, Logan C. Littlejohn, and Connor B. Littlejohn, and a host of friends and colleagues.
