William Phillips was born on May 3, 1939 to the parents of Willie (Bill) Phillips and Magnolia Mcacory Phillips in Vaiden, Mississippi. He transitioned Monday, November 20, 2017 at his residence with his family at his side.
William attended Mississippi public schools until the age of 16. Then he had to go too work as a construction worker and help support his family.
William loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his family and friends.
William accepted Christ at an early age and attended church with his parents.
William was preceded in death by parents, Willie (Bill) Phillips and Magnolia Mcacory Phillips; his sister, Willie Mae Phillips Taylor; step son, Michael Sandier; and sister-in-law, Bessie Phillips.
He leaves to cherish his memories are: wife, Vanessa Williams Phillips; daughters, Ashely Phillips, Trista Phillips and Mary Williams; stepchildren, Willie Louis, Linda Smith, Tishanne Sandifer, Mary (Tiny) Sandifer, Jessie Sandifer and Ronnie Sandifer; brothers, James Wesley Phillips Sr., of Nashville, TN., Clyde (Mosetta) Phillips of Memphis, TN; sisters, Odessa (Clyde) Locke of Tullahoma, TN; grandchildren, Brandon Phillips, Braydon Phillips, Brianna Phillips, Brooklin Phillips and Messiah Phillips, Triquavius Phillips, Trisavius Phillips, Tkai Phillips, Katrice Collins, Cedric Collins, DeKendrick Collins and Lamarcus Collins; sisters-in-law, Vivian (Woodrow) Williams and Regina Richardson both of LaVergne, TN; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; devoted friend, Otis Taylor.
