William Nathaniel Woodmore, Sr.

August 26, 1946 — November 1, 2023

Hendersonville

William Nathaniel “Woody” Woodmore Sr. was born in Lebanon, Tennessee, on August 26, 1946, and transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. He was preceded in death by his mother, Daisy Lee Woodmore, and brother, Curtis Woodmore.

He leaves a host of devoted family members and friends to cherish his memory, including his wife of 45 years Linda L. (Williams) Woodmore; sister Dorothy Jean (Woodmore) Leslie; children Shaundra, William Jr. (Chassity), and Stacey Woodmore; grandchildren Arielle, Hannah, and Amari Woodmore; nieces and nephews Terri, DeCarlo (Kamellie), and Valencia Woodmore, Natalie Newsom, Ethan Hearn, and many more.

Woody was a 1964 graduate of Pearl High School where he played football under Coach Cornelius Ridley. Following high school, he served in the U.S. Air Force before receiving an honorable discharge. He worked for Ford Glass Plant for many years and retired as a glass inspector. He couldn’t sit still, so he continued working after retirement at FedEx where he became a lead truck loader. Once he was finally done with working, he continued to do minor landscaping on his yard and others alongside his wife, Linda.

His hobbies included drawing, music, dancing, gardening, and grilling for his family. He was a huge fan of all Tennessee sports teams and loved fast cars, especially his Ford F150 Harley Davidson truck. With his infectious smile, Woody knew no stranger. He adored and loved all his family, friends, and colleagues.
