Age 78, transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life June 6, 2018.
Willie Thomas Anthony, the second eldest son of the late Ernest (Babe) Anthony and Sallie Dixon Anthony departed this life after a short illness on Monday, June 6, 2018.
He was born on August 21, 1939 in Tupelo, Mississippi, and was the second of twelve siblings. His parents later moved to Jackson, Tennessee where he and his younger siblings attended Oak Grove Elementary and West High School in Madison County. Later, he moved to Nashville and attended A. I. State- now formally known as Tennessee State University.
Willie worked with his parents and his brother doing farm work. He worked various jobs after moving to Nashville, including The Juvenile Detention Center, the State of Tennessee, and Clover Bottom. He had a love for cooking, traveling, and especially spending time with his family. He will always be remembered for his love of the Casino! If you knew him, you couldn’t help but to love him for his outgoing personality.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Sallie Anthony; brothers, Claude Davis, Richilieu, Cleveland, and Paul Daniel Anthony; daughter, Karen Yvonne Anthony-Hall; and granddaughter, Tiffany Word.
With pleasant memories to always cherish and treasure, he leaves: a devoted daughter, Sharon Yvette Anthony; devoted sons, Charles (Deborah) Bray of Nashville, TN, William Sr. (Debra) Anthony, of Atlanta, GA., and Darrell (Tamantha) Word of LaVergne, TN; devoted grandchildren, Monique Anthony, Brian (N’keesia) Hall, Terrance Hall, Stephanie Neal, Tarika Neal, and Melissa Anthony, all of Nashville, TN.,William Anthony, Jr. and Zachary Anthony both of Atlanta, GA., Alicia, Candice and Nathan Bray, all of Nashville, TN., Brandon, Alexa, and Faith Word, all of Nashville, TN; very devoted siblings, Ernest (Beverly), Lee (Katie), Ollie (Vera), Willie B. (Susie) Anthony, Katherine Beechum, Katie (Edward) Hill, Sr., and Joyce (John) Otey, Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
