Willie Lee Crutcher was born on April 27, 1948 in Huntsville, Alabama to Milton and Louise Crutcher. He departed this life Wednesday, October 9, 2019 surrounded by family and friends.
Willie was educated in the Davidson County Public School System. He graduated from Cameron High School in 1966 as an SECC Top Basketball Guard and received a basketball scholarship to Mississippi Valley University, in Itta Bena, Mississippi. He then married Margaret Lovell in 1968, and they enjoyed 52 years of Holy Matrimony. He was a loving father and a good provider.
Willie was employed with Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) for 36 years and plus 10 years with Vanderbilt Hospital, as a pensioner he continued to care for his community and his family. He also enjoyed his western shows along with his old school music.
Willie was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Crutcher; parents, Milton and Louise Crutcher; sisters, Marie Crutcher, Mary Crutcher, Shirley Crutcher; brother, Clifford Crutcher Sr., junior Crutcher; sister-in-law, Jennifer B. Lovell and brothers-in-law, Wallace Lovell and Clifford D. Lovell.
Willie (Monk) Crutcher leaves to cherish his memories; daughter, Kimberly Crutcher; sons, Derrick Crutcher and Demond Crutcher Buchanan; 2 devoted grandchildren Kendra Smith and Quinester Calloway; great grandchild, Jeremy Russell Jr.; sisters, Bobbie Coleman, Susie Mae Mosley; brother, Hezzie Crutcher and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
